One of Amber’s earliest memories was when she accepted Jesus into her heart around the age of five. That was a life changing moment for her, not just from a salvation standpoint but from a relationship standpoint. Amber speaks of many childhood memories where she encountered God’s tangible presence. As a child, she viewed God as a faithful friend who understood and loved her. Amber maintained a close relationship with God until the latter years of high school, but peer pressure, temptation, and the lure of the world eventually caught her attention. Amber shares how being overweight in her adolescent years played into her vulnerability of wanting to be popular and accepted by her peers. In her junior year of high school, Amber lost weight and soon after found herself with a new image, new friends, and a new founded popularity. All the new attention was exciting and attractive, and she quickly fell into the “party” scene, and began rebelling from God for the next seven years.

After running from God for years but never finding satisfaction or fulfillment apart from a relationship with Christ, Amber realized that she needed to return to her first love. It wasn’t until her senior year of college in 2004, Amber surrendered and yielded her heart back to God. From that moment on, Amber never looked back. She has been passionately pursuing God ever since because she has discovered the age old, universal truth, that Christ is the only thing that will ever satisfy the deepest longings of our heart.

With her background of growing up in the church and having a genuine relationship with God at an early age, but rebelling from God in her late teens and early twenties, Amber felt God's leading to share the biblical truth and wisdom she learned through those different seasons. Her passion for God and people led her to pursue full-time ministry right after graduating from FSU in 2004.

In 2005, Amber attended a 6- month ministry training program in Los Angeles, CA and obtained a Certificate of Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. When she returned from California, she came on staff with a local church in Tallahassee where she discipled college age women who attended Florida State University. In 2007 Amber moved to Nashville, TN to take on a unique full-time ministry position at Mercy Multiplied, as the Household Manager of a 40-bed facility helping young women struggling with life controlling issues. Amber also worked in the Mercy Multiplied Corporate Office as the Director of Transitional Care, following up with thousands of program graduates. While in full-time ministry God opened the door for Amber to teach multiple ministry settings from small groups to women’s conferences.

Amber loves to share with women about her past struggle with restlessness, striving and anxiety regarding her career, dreams, and goals. Amber had a life changing encounter with God in 2010 while living in Nashville that set her heart free from a constant sense of restlessness and the false notion that she needed to perform for God in order to make her destiny come to fruition. That moment marked her heart forever. God revealed to her that in all the seasons of her life, through the ups and downs, successes and failures, through joy and pain, dreams fulfilled and dreams unfulfilled, Christ alone is her prize and very great reward in this life. What God did for her in that moment was solidify her life verse that would carry her through every season of her life. That verse is Genesis 15:1 “Do not be afraid Abram, I am shield, your very great reward.” And that is why this website is named greatreward.org. Since that life-changing moment, Amber has found peace with allowing God’s process for her life to unfold in His timing and is continually learning to trust Him in every season of her life.

Over 15 years later from when Amber first embarked on her journey into Christian ministry serving women, Amber still finds her greatest passion when writing, speaking, and teaching about Jesus. Today, Amber and her husband Nick own a real estate brokerage and media company which keep them busy along with their two year old son EJ, but in her free time, Amber is still passionate about studying God’s word and sharing how God has transformed her.

Whatever stage of life you may find yourself in, Amber would love to share the truth of God’s word with you. Through all of life’s ordinary and extraordinary moments, she truly hopes you will find God himself as your great reward. Stay tuned for blogs, podcasts, and other exciting things Amber will be sharing on this website!

Ride to Live

I want women to love Jesus! That is what I would give every single thing I have for, every earthly good I've got. That is the greatest desire of my heart.
